3. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

The equipment must be installed in accordance with local codes, or in the absence of local codes with the latest edition of the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1, the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.

The equipment shall be installed in accordance with those installation regulations in force in the local area where the installation is to be made. These shall be carefully followed in all cases. Authorities having jurisdiction shall be consulted before installations are made.

MOUNTING POWER VENT ASSEMBLY

Follow these instructions if the PowerVent venting system was purchased as an option assembly kit.

1.Remove existing pagoda top (outdoor units) or drafthood (indoor units). To remove the pagoda top, push the four brackets inward and pull up the pagoda top. The pagoda may then be discarded.

2.Unscrew the four screws holding the outer top using a phillips screw driver. Remove the jacket top.

3.Replace the inner stack adapter. If the heater had a drafthood installed previously, re- move the inner stack adapter and replace it with the PowerVent stack adapter. Otherwise, install the PowerVent stack adapter.

4.Unscrew the access panel on the right side of the appliance. Set aside the screws with the access panel.

5.Remove the knurled screw holding the front door and set it aside with the door.

6.Mount the jacket top above the unit. Note: Do not install at this point.

7.Mount the Power Vent on the outer top.

8.Route the conduit harness of the PowerVent thru the outer top hole, around the adapter towards the back of the unit. Continue routing the harness thru the corner slot, which leads to open area behind the access panel. Finally, route only the wire harness thru the 7/8” grommet hole located on the sway brace. Follow instructions on page 7 to wire the PowerVent. Note: Newer units have a 7/8” grommet located on the rain shield, which would eliminate routing the harness around the back corner.

9.Re-mount the jacket top to its original position and screw in the four screws holding it down to the appliance.

10.If the appliance is a 181, 182, 330 or 331, remove the tabs underneath the power vent using a 5/16” nut driver and relocate the closer to the center of the Power Vent.

Raypak, a leading manufacturer in the heating solutions industry, offers a robust range of commercial and residential heating systems, including the Raypak models 405, 265, 335, and 185. These units are designed with advanced technology to provide efficient, reliable heating for swimming pools, spas, and hydronic heating systems.

One of the standout features of the Raypak series is its use of a fully modulating gas valve. This technology allows the heaters to adjust their output efficiently according to the heating demand, ensuring optimal energy consumption and maintaining consistent water temperatures. Additionally, each model is equipped with an advanced digital control system that offers precise temperature settings, easy programming, and user-friendly operation.

The Raypak 405 model is known for its high BTU output, making it ideal for larger commercial pools or spas. It boasts a durable construction designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, featuring a rust-resistant cabinet that ensures longevity and reliability. The model also employs a high-efficiency heat exchanger, which improves heat transfer and minimizes energy loss.

Similarly, the Raypak 265 and 335 models provide a balance of power and efficiency for mid-sized applications. The 265 is perfect for smaller commercial spaces while maintaining robust performance. The 335 offers additional heating capacity, making it suitable for slightly larger pools or spas. Both models include Raypak's patented PolyTuf powder coating, which enhances their durability and resistance to corrosion and fading.

The Raypak 185 model caters primarily to residential heating needs, ensuring homeowners can enjoy warm pools and spas without excessive energy costs. It combines compact design with powerful performance, allowing it to fit seamlessly into smaller spaces without sacrificing efficiency.

Another notable technology present in all Raypak models is the use of a titanium heat exchanger, which provides superior resistance to scale and corrosion. This feature is particularly advantageous in areas with hard water, where traditional heat exchangers may fail prematurely.

In conclusion, the Raypak 405, 265, 335, and 185 models represent the latest advancements in heating technology. With features such as modulating gas valves, advanced digital controls, durable construction, and efficient heat exchangers, these units are well-equipped to meet the diverse heating needs of both residential and commercial applications. Raypak continues to set the standard in the industry, ensuring reliable performance and energy efficiency for years to come.
