GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Read these instructions carefully and follow them in detail to ensure that the safety features of the bassinet and crib are not compromised. Keep these instructions for later use. Save the Allen key for later use. Re-tighten all screws 2-3 weeks after assembly.

When assembling the bassinet or crib do not tighten the screws until the whole unit is assembled. Doing this ensures you the easiest way to assemble.

Make sure the bassinet or crib is placed on a level and stable surface. After assembly, check and tighten all fit- tings and screws. Loose screw connections or parts could lead to the baby trapping a body part, or clothing (e.g. strings, necklaces, ribbons for babies’ dummies, etc.) which would pose a risk of strangulation.

Make sure there are no loose parts in the bassinet or

crib which a child could swallow, as this could lead to suffocation or choking. Make sure there are no loose parts in the crib that could provide a foothold for your child.

Never place the bassinet or crib by an open fire or source of strong heat such as electric bar fires, gas fires, etc. due to the risk of fire.

Do not use the bassinet or crib if any parts are dam- aged or missing.

Place the bassinet or crib in reasonable distance from curtains, blinds, heaters and power points.

To ensure a safe environment for the child, check regu- larly, before placing the child in the bassinet or crib, that every component is properly and securely in place.

Ticking: Washable at 60°C (140°F). Stretch while wet. Do not tumble dry.

Foam: Can be heat treated in 100°C (212°F) and washed/flushed in boiling water. After a pee accident, the mattress should always be washed; pee is excel- lent growth media for fungi.

WOOD: Wipe with a clean damp cloth, wipe off excess of water. We do not recommend any use of detergent. Colours may change if they are exposed to the sun.

NORMAL USE: Always remove the bedlinen in the morning and let the bed and bedlinen ”cool down” and dry up.

*) Not valid for other manufacturers – See own care-instructions.

WARNING Failure to follow these warnings and instructions could result in serious injury or death. WARNING

BASSINET

FALL HAZARD – To help prevent falls, do not use this product when the infant begins to push up on hands and knees or has reached manufacturer’s recommended max- imum weight, whichever comes first.

SUFFOCATION HAZARD – Infants can suffocate:

-In gaps between an extra pad and side of the bassinet

-On soft bedding

NEVER add a mattress, pillow, comforter or padding. Use ONLY the pad provided by manufacturer.

If a sheet is used with the pad, use only the one provided by the bassinet or cradle manufacturer or one specifically de- signed to fit the dimensions of the bassinet or cradle mattress.

When a child is able to sit, kneel or to pull itself up, the cradle/bassinet shall not be used anymore for this child.

Make sure that the distance from the mattress to the top of the bassinet is never less than 7.9’’. You will have no problems if the original mattress from STOKKE is used.

Do not let other children play unsupervised near the bassinet.

Make sure the bassinet is locked in a fixed position when a child is unsupervised in it.

To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend- healthy infants be placed on their backs to sleep, unless otherwise advised by your physician.

Do not use this cradle if the enclosed or attached instructions cannot be strictly adhered to. Do not use this cradle if the child is able to climb out unaided. Do not place cords, straps or similar items that could become wound around the child's neck in or near this cradle. The mattress used with this cradle should not be more than 8cm (3.1’’)thick and should be of such length and width that the gap between the mattress and the sides of the cradle is not more that 3cm (1.2’’) when the mattress is pushed into one corner of the cradle.

CRIB

The crib, including side rails, must be fully erected prior to use.

Suffocation Hazard – To help prevent suffocation from entrapment, use only mattress provided by the manufac- turer. Never use additional mattress or padding.

Strings can cause strangulation! DO NOT place items with a string around a child’s neck such as hood strings or paci- fier cords. DO NOT suspend strings over crib or attach strings to toys.

Discontinue use of crib when child is able to climb out or reaches the height of 35’’.

DO NOT place crib near window where cords from blinds or drapes may strangle a child.

When child is able to pull to standing position, set mat- tress to lowest adjustment position and remove bumper pads, large toys, and other object that could serve as step for climbing out.

Before each usage or assembly, inspect crib for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts or sharp edges. DO NOT use crib if any parts are missing or broken. Ask your dealer or write to STOKKE for replacement parts and instructional literature if needed. DO NOT substitute parts.

Never use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers not sold and intended for that purpose. They can cause suffocation.

If refinishing, use a non-toxic finish specified for children’s products.

DO NOT use a water mattress with this crib.

The crib base height can be adjusted at all four basic heights. Make sure that the distance from the mattress to the top of the crib is never less than 11.8’’ in the highest

position and 19.7’’ in the lowest position. This level is marked at the crib end (Ç). You will have no problems if the original mattress from STOKKE is used.

The lowest position of the crib base is always the safest. As soon as the baby can sit up or pull itself up, the crib base must be lowered.

Make sure to keep medication, string, elastic, small toys or small items such as money out of reach from any position in the crib

When your child can climb in and out of the bed by itself, you can consider removing one side of the bed and adjust the crib base to the upper position.

Do not use this crib if the enclosed or attached instruc- tions cannot be strictly adhered to. Do not use this crib if the child is able to climb out unaided or is taller than 90cm (35’’). Do not place cords, straps or similar items that could become wound around the child's neck in or near this crib. Ensure that the sides are properly latched or locked in place when the crib is occupied. The mat- tress used with this crib should not be more than 15cm (5.9’’) thick and should be of such length and width that the gap between the mattress and the sides of the crib is not more than 3cm (1.2’’) when the mattress is pushed into the corner of the crib.
