Setting the Timer

You can turn the air conditioner on or off automatically. Example: You wish to start cooling your room before you

return from work; you decide to:

Set the air conditioner going at 5:30 p.m.

Switch it off at 11:30 p.m.

IMPORTANT Check that the current time is correct before setting the timer; if not, refer to page 8.

1Press the ON/OFF() button.

You cannot make any reservation in the “off” state.

2Press MODE under the remote control flap one or more times until the COOL indicator is displayed.

3Press the TIMER ON button.

Result:The TIMER indicator is displayed.

The ON indicator flashes.

The preset time is displayed.

4Press the TIME or buttons to set the “on time”(“off time”).

NOTE You can hold the button down to scroll rapidly through the figures.

Result: AM or PM are displayed to indicate whether the setting

corresponds to a time before or after midday.

5When you are satisfied with the start time, press SET-TIMER. Result:The indoor unit beeps.

The TIMER light switches on.

The unit is switched off and will start up automatically when the start time is reached.

6Press the TIMER OFF button.

7Indicate the time at which you wish to stop the air conditioner; to do so, follow steps 4 above.

8When you are satisfied with the stop time, press SET-TIMER to transmit the settings to the indoor unit.

Result: The indoor unit beeps.

NOTE You can set:

The start time only

The stop time only

Both the start and stop times

Refer to page 19 for detailed information about the method of cancelling the timer.

The timer function allows reserved operation using only the remote control.
