Tips for getting a clearer photo

Holding your camera correctly

Make sure nothing is blocking the lens.

Half-pressing the shutter button

Half-press [Shutter] and adjust the focus. Focus and exposure will be adjusted automatically.

The aperture value and shutter speed are automatically set.

Focus frame

• Press [Shutter] to take the photo if displayed in green.

• Change the frame and half-press [Shutter] again if displayed in red.

Reducing camera shake

Set the Optical Image Stabilization option to reduce camera shake optically. (p. 28)

Select the d mode to reduce camera shake both optically and digitally. (p. 36)

When h is displayed

Camera shake

When shooting in the dark, avoid setting the flash option to Slow Sync or Off. The aperture remains open longer and it may be harder to hold the camera still.

Use a tripod or set the flash option to Fill in. (p. 50)
