Basic Functions

Listening to DAB

Using buttons on the Remote Control

1.Press the FUNCTION button to select DAB.

2.Tune in to the desired station.

Store Tuning : Press the ENTER button to select

STORE-X and then press TUNING ,,. buttons to select the service number.

Automatic Tuning : Press the C button to dispaly

SCAN NO and then press TUNING ,,. buttons to select SCAN YES , press ENTER button to automatically search for active broadcasting stations.

Manual Tuning : Press the D button to display the frequency(XX XX XX) and then briefly press the

TUNING ,,.button to increase or decrease the frequency.

Presetting Stations

Example : Presetting DAB station in the memory

1.Press the FUNCTION button to select DAB.

2.Press the STOP ( @ ) button to display SELECT-X.

3.Press the TUNING ,,. buttons select stored number.

You can select between 1 and 9 , A and F presets.

4.Press the ENTER button again.

"PLS WAIT" disappears and then displays the stored frequency.

DAB Related Function

1.Press the INFO button.

Each time you press the button during reception, the mode changes on the display as follows:

DLS (Dynamic Label Segment): Teletext Display This function may not work depending on the service area and broadcasting circumstances.

Program Type (Pop, Classic, Rock, etc)

Bit Rate

Date/Time( Time and Date appear alternately on the screen on about every three seconds

Quality

If no button is pressed for 7~8 seconds, you will be exited from the Information Display function.

Small letters and some special characters (Ω, /, =, ?) cannot be displayed.

About Ensemble and Service

For each ensemble, there are various services such as audio and data.

Shaded areas are frequencies used currently as of March, 2012 in the UK (“United Kingdom”)

`` If you first use the DAB function, and if there is no service list on all the frequency, the main unit will automatically scan for a few senconds later.

`` What is DAB?

DAB stands for digital audio broadcasting. It is a new form of radio that is broadcast digitally. Digital audio provides a superior quality of sound compared to regular analogue broadcasting.

About RDS broadcasting(optional)

Using the RDS (Radio Data System) to receive FM stations

RDS allows FM stations to send an additional signal along with their regular program signals.

For example, the stations send their station names, as well as information about what type of program they broadcast, such as sports or music, etc.

When tuned to an FM station which provides the RDS service, the RDS indicator lights up on the display.

Description on RDS function

PTY (Program Type) : Displays the type of programme currently being broadcast.

PS NAME (Program Service Name) : Indicates the name of broadcasting station and is composed of 8 characters.

RT (Radio Text) : Decodes the text broadcast by a station (if any) and is composed of maximum 64 characters.
