Place the cursor over a field and click the arrows to increase/decrease the values (1–16). The live feed from the camera lets you view the adjustments. Right-click anywhere in the window to return to the Camera Setting window.

MOTION DETECTION

Set up motion detection sensitivity and manually configure the zones for motion detection. There are four motion sensitivity options: Highest, Normal, Low, or Disable.

It is possible to enable the motion detection feature in some zones of the camera view while other zones do not have this functionality. This may be useful when a camera covers the road and an adjoining open area. While you want motion detection working on the area near the entrance to the building, you do not want it triggered every time a car or truck passes on the nearby road.

Click the >> button to select the zone(s) in the camera view where the motion detection is activated/disabled. To view a full-screen image of the camera feed with a superimposed grid, left-click the mouse to select/unselect each cell or drag the cursor to select multiple- cells. Select as many zones as needed.

Blue highlighted squares indicate zones where motion will be detected. Clear squares indicate zones where motion will not be detected.

To return to the previous menu, right-click or press ESC on the DVR front panel or remote control.

The First Alert 4800 is a highly regarded smoke and carbon monoxide detector known for its reliability and advanced features. It is designed to enhance the safety of homes and businesses by promptly detecting smoke and hazardous carbon monoxide gases, which can pose serious threats to life and property.

One of the key features of the First Alert 4800 is its dual-sensor technology. This innovative design combines both photoelectric and ionization sensors, allowing the device to effectively sense slow, smoldering fires as well as fast-flaming fires. This dual approach significantly improves the chances of early detection, giving occupants crucial time to react in case of a fire emergency.

Another standout characteristic of the First Alert 4800 is its ability to detect dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is often dubbed the "silent killer" because it is odorless and colorless, making it difficult to detect without proper equipment. The design of the First Alert 4800 incorporates a sleek and modern aesthetic that fits seamlessly into various home decors. Its unobtrusive appearance does not compromise its functionality. Furthermore, the unit features a clear digital display that indicates the levels of smoke and carbon monoxide detected, providing users with immediate information about their environment.

Installation and maintenance of the First Alert 4800 are user-friendly. The device comes with an easily accessible battery compartment and features a low-battery alert system. This ensures minimal disruption, as users can quickly replace batteries when needed. The unit is also equipped with a test button that allows users to check the functionality of the alarm with a simple press.

Another noteworthy technology included in the First Alert 4800 is its voice alarm feature. In addition to the standard alarm sounds, the device provides a voice alert that specifies the type of danger detected, whether it's smoke or carbon monoxide. This feature helps users make informed decisions in emergencies, particularly in stressful situations.

In summary, the First Alert 4800 is a cutting-edge smoke and carbon monoxide detector that prioritizes safety through its dual-sensor technology, modern design, and user-friendly features. With its reliable performance and intelligent alerts, it offers peace of mind to homeowners and businesses alike, ensuring that occupants are protected from the dangers of fire and toxic gases.
