Glossary of Terms

Control Module: The "brain" of your system. Usually hidden underneath the dash area of the vehicle. It houses the micro- processor that controls all of your system’s functions.

Starter Kill: An optional automatic switch controlled by the secu- rity system that prevents the vehicle’s starter from cranking whenever it is activated. The vehicle is never prevented from cranking when the system is disarmed, in Valet® Mode, or should the starter kill switch itself fail.

Trigger or Triggered Sequence: This is what happens when the alarm of a DEI compatible security system "goes off". The trig- gered response of the system consists of 30 seconds of siren sounding and parking light flashing.
