Safety Information

Please Read This Manual Before Installing and Using Fireplace

IMPORTANT: Read all instructions and warnings carefully before starting installation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in a possible ﬁre hazard and will void the warranty.

Description

The EWF36A ﬁreplace is a solid fuel, woodburning, heat circulating ﬁreplace.

Precautions

CFM Corporation ﬁreplaces and component parts have been highly tested and will operate safely when in- stalled in accordance with instructions provided in this manual. Carefully read and understand all instructions before beginning installation.

If you notice any damage to ﬁreplace or component parts, immediately report damage to your CFM Corpo- ration dealer.

Only use CFM Corporation components or the warranty will be voided and a ﬁre hazard may be created.

CFM Corporation warranty will be voided by and CFM Corporation disclaims any responsibility for the follow- ing actions:

•Installation of any damaged ﬁreplace or chim- ney component;

•Modiﬁcation of ﬁreplace, chimney assembly or any component parts thereof; (except for chase ﬂashings as detailed in CFM Corporation Chimney Top installation instructions).

•Installation other than as instructed by CFM Corporation; or

•Installation and/or use of any component part not manufactured or approved by CFM Corpo- ration in combination or assembly with a CFM Corporation ﬁreplace system, notwithstand- ing any independent testing laboratory or other third party approval of such component parts or accessory.

Any such action may possibly cause a ﬁre hazard.

Consult local building codes to ensure that you are in compliance before installing the ﬁreplace.

This ﬁreplace and chimney system must be vented to the out-of-doors.

Do not obstruct or modify air inlets/outlets in any manner.

Do not install combustible materials on any of the black ﬁreplace surround.

Burn only solid wood fuel.

The EWF36A is intended for operation with the doors closed or fully open only with the optional spark screen in place.

Do not install a solid fuel burning insert or other products not speciﬁed for use with this ﬁreplace.

This ﬁreplace is not approved for installation in mobile homes.

NOTE: Hairline cracks in hearth brick and ash lips are not a safety issue and do not need to be re- placed.

Drafts

The ﬁreplace should not be located in areas that create drafts (ie: frequently opened doors and central heating air inlets/outlets) that hamper the normal ﬂow of air into the ﬁre.
