20 MAINTENANCE

MAIN BURNER FLAME PATTERN

The Weber® gas fi replace burner has been factory set for the correct air and gas mixture. A correct fl ame pattern is:

A yellow to light-orange fl ame An incorrect fl ame pattern is:

• A dark orange fl ame

Smoke-producing fl ame

If the fl ames appear to be darker orange throughout the burner, sooting occurs, or smoke is produced; follow the burner and spider screen cleaning procedures.

IGNITION SYSTEM

If the Ignition System fails to ignite the burner, light manually. If Manual igni- tion is successful, then check the Ignition System.

Check that both the white (2) and black (3) ignition wires are attached properly.

Check that the igniter button pushes in completely and returns.

Check to see if the igniter is loose in the frame. Tighten if necessary. If the Ignition System still fails to ignite the burner, see Manual Lighting pro- cedure and contact your dealer.
