REMOVING THE DIRT CONTAINER FOR CLEANING

There are two lift latches that lock the dirt container to the upper motor assembly. The lift latches must be carefully moved away from the dirt container to release the dirt container. It is easiest to release one lift latch at a time.

CLEANING THE DIRT CONTAINER AND FILTERS

Empty dry dirt container contents into a plastic bag for disposal.

Dirty water can be poured down a sink drain.

Clean with a wet cloth or with mild detergent and water only. Do not clean with paint thinner or chemical solutions that might damage the unit.

Replace dirt container by snapping it back in place.

FILTER CLEANING

The filters can be easily cleaned using water with a little dishwashing detergent. There is an outer cloth filter supported by an inner foam filter.

Cleaning should be done when the outer cloth filter becomes clogged with dust and dirt. Remove the motor assembly from the dirt container. Make sure the container is emptied of dirt, dust and any dirty liquid.

1.Remove the rubber-retaining ring by sliding it off the cloth filter. (see Figure 5A)

2.Remove the cloth filter.

3.Carefully remove the foam part of the filter.

4.Wash both the cloth and the foam filters and the retaining ring in detergent and water. (see Figure 5B)

5.Rinse in clear water and wash again in clean in water if necessary.

6.Pat the cloth and foam filters with a large dry bath towel to remove most of the water.

7.Allow several hours for the filter to dry if using for dry dust and dirt.

8.Reassemble foam, cloth and retaining ring on the filter assembly.

9.Replace the top part of the unit on the canister.
