WARNING: When using a vac, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury including the following:

GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL TOOLS
When using a vac, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR WET/DRY VAC.
In the following text, the words Danger, Warning, and Caution are used to emphasize important safety information. The word:
DANGER means that severe injury or death will result from failure to follow instructions. WARNING means that severe injury or death can result from failure to follow instructions. CAUTION means that property damage or injury can result from failure to follow instructions.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR INJURY:
1.DO NOT use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline, or use in areas where they are present.
2.DO NOT use in areas where explosive vapors may be present.
3.DO NOT use to pick up explosive dust, or in areas where air contains explosive dust such as coal, grain, or other combustible materials.
4.DO NOT use to pick up hazardous waste such as asbestos or fertilizers.
5.DO NOT pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
6.KEEP HAIR, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
7.DO NOT leave the machine unattended when plugged in. Unplug when not in use and before servicing.
8.TO AVOID electric shock, do not expose to rain. Store indoors.
9.DO NOT allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used near children.
10.USE ONLY as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
11.DO NOT use with damaged cord or plug. If machine is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a Black & Decker Authorized Service Center for service.
12.DO NOT pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run machine over cord. Keep cord away from hot surfaces.
13.DO NOT unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
14.DO NOT touch plug or machine with wet hands.
15.DO NOT put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked. Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair or anything that might reduce air flow.
16.DO NOT sit or stand on the machine.
17.TURN OFF power switch before unplugging machine.
18.USE EXTRA care when cleaning on stairs.
19.CONNECT to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instructions.
20.DO NOT use without dust bag and/or filters in.
21.STORE IDLE tools. When not in use, the appliance should be stored in a dry, high or locked up
place - - out of reach of children.
22.DO NOT attempt to repair the vac. To assure product safety and reliability, repairs, maintenance, and adjustments should be performed by Authorized Black & Decker Service Centers.
23.DO NOT place outlet of blower near eyes or ears when operating.
24.DO NOT overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
25.DO NOT operate blower in a gaseous or explosive atmosphere. Motors in these tools normally spark, and the sparks might ignite fumes.
26.DO NOT attempt to clear clogs from tool without first unplugging it.
27.KEEP CHILDREN, BYSTANDERS AND ANIMALS AWAY from the work area a minimum of 30 feet
(10 meters) when starting or operating the tool.
28.INSPECT THE AREA before using the tool. Remove all debris and hard objects such as rocks, glass, wire, etc. that can ricochet, be thrown, or otherwise cause injury or damage during operation.
29.DO NOT lift unit by Power Head, use molded handles in both tank locations.
30.DO NOT pick up wood or coal ash, soot, cement, plaster or drywall dust without filter bag in place.
31.TO AVOID spontaneous combustion, empty tank after each use.
32.THE BLOWER operation of a utility vac can result in foreign objects being blown into eyes, which can result in eye damage. Always wear safety goggles when operating blower.

•WET PICKUP — Use the foam filter sleeve.
•DRY PICKUP — Use the foam filter and paper filter bag combination, replace as required when clogged. If you do not use the proper filter, you may damage your new machine and you will void the warranty.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This machine must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce risk of electric shock. This machine is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER
Improper connection of the equipment grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance - if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

THE USE OF A TEMPORARY ADAPTER IS NOT PERMITTED BY THE CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODE.
This machine is for use on a nominal 120 volt AC circuit, and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug illustrated in (Fig. 1A). A temporary adapter that looks like the adapter illustrated in (Fig. 1B) may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown in (Fig. 1B) if a properly grounded outlet is not available. The temporary adapter should be used only until a properly grounded outlet (Fig. 1A) can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green colored rigid ear, lug, or the like extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover. Whenever the adapter is used, it must be held in place by a metal screw.
EXTENSION CORDS
If the unit is to be used with an extension cord, the cord must be UL Listed/Certified, No. 16AWG, SJTW- A/SJT 3 Conductor, marked on flag label “Suitable for Outdoor Applications, Store Indoors.” Not to exceed 50 feet.
