MOBILE HOME INSTALLATION

Mobile homes built in the past five to seven years have been designed to be energy efficient. Install smoke alarms as recommended above (see Figure 1).

In mobile homes that are not well insulated compared to present standards, extreme heat or cold can be transferred from the outside to the inside through poorly insulated walls and roof. This may create a thermal barrier which can prevent the smoke from reaching an alarm mounted on the ceiling. In such units, install the smoke alarm on an inside wall with the top edge of the alarm at a minimum of 4” (10 cm) and a maximum of 12” (30.5 cm) below the ceiling (see Figure 1).

If you are not sure about the insulation in your mobile home, or if you notice that the outer walls and ceiling are either hot or cold, install the alarm on an inside wall. For minimum protection, install at least one alarm close to the bedrooms. For additional protection, see SINGLE FLOOR PLAN in Figure 2.

0910 specifications

The Kidde 0910 is a cutting-edge smoke detector that exemplifies the company’s commitment to safety and innovation. Designed for residential use, this compact and reliable device provides early warning of smoke and fire hazards, helping to protect lives and property.

One of the standout features of the Kidde 0910 is its photoelectric sensing technology, which enhances its ability to detect smoldering fires that produce a significant amount of smoke. Unlike traditional ionization detectors that are more effective at sensing fast-flaming fires, the photoelectric technology offers a quicker response to the smoldering fires often caused by items like upholstered furniture and bedding. This adaptability can significantly reduce false alarms while enhancing actual threat detection.

Another prominent characteristic of the Kidde 0910 is its battery-operated design. The device runs on a 9-volt battery, ensuring continuous operation even during power outages. With a battery life that generally lasts one year, the system includes a low-battery indicator to alert users when it's time to replace the battery. This feature helps maintain the detector’s efficacy at all times.

Moreover, the Kidde 0910 boasts a sleek and unobtrusive design, making it easy to install in any part of the home, including hallways, living rooms, and bedrooms. Its lightweight structure means minimal disruption during installation, and the device can be mounted on walls or ceilings with ease.

Additionally, the Kidde 0910 is equipped with a test/reset button, enabling users to check the functionality of the unit regularly. This feature promotes a proactive approach to safety within the home.

Lastly, the Kidde 0910 complies with industry standards, ensuring it meets rigorous safety parameters, which provides peace of mind to homeowners. With its combination of advanced sensing technology, user-friendly features, and reliable performance, the Kidde 0910 is a compelling choice for anyone looking to enhance their home’s fire safety measures.
