The valvemust be markedwith a maximum set pressurenot to exceedthe marked hydrostaticworking pressureof the water heater (150 IbsJsq.in.) and a dischargecapacitynot less than the water heater input rate asshownon the modelrating plate. (Electric heaters- watts dividedby 1000x 3415 equal BTU/Hr. rate.) Yourlocaljurisdictionalauthority, whilemandatingthe useof a temperature-pressurereliefvaivecomplyingwith ANSI Z21.22

and ASME,may require a valvemodel differentfrom the one furnishedwith the water heater.

Compliancewith suchlocalrequirementsmust be satisfiedby the installeror end userof the water heaterwith a locallypre- scribedtemperature-pressurereliefvalveinstalledin the desig-

nated openingin the water heater in placeof the factory fur- nishedvalve.

Forsafeoperationof the water heater, the reliefvalvemustnot beremoved from it'sdesignatedopeningor plugged.

The temperature-pressurereliefvalvemustbe installeddirectly intothe fittingof thewater heaterdesignatedfor the relief valve. Mustnot haveanyvalvebetween the relief valveand tank.

AWARNING

The temperature-pressure relief valve must be manually

operated at least once a _ Caution shouldbe taken to ensurethat (I) no one is in front of or aroundthe outiot of the temperature-pressurerelief valvedischargeI'me,and (2) the water manually dischargedwill not cause any bodily mjury or property damage because the water may be ex_mely hot.

If after manually oper_Jng the valve, it fails to completely reset and continuesto releasewater, immediately closethe cold water inlet to the water heater, follow the draining

instructions, and replace the temperatore-preasure relief valvewith a new one.

At the time of manufacture, this water heater was provided with a cornbinadontern- perature-pressure relief valve listedas complyingwith the standardfor relief valves and automatic gas shut-off devices for hot water supply systems, ANSI Z21.22. For safe

operation of the water heater, the relief valvemust not be removed from its designated point of installationor plugged.

Your local jurisdictional authority, while mandating the use of a temperature-pressure relief valve complyingwith ANSI Z21.22 and ASME, mayrequire a valvemodel different from the one furnishedwith the water heart.

Compliancewith such local requirements must be satisfied by the installeror end user of the water heater with a locally prescribedtemperature-pressure relief valve installed in the designated opening in the water heater.

See manual heading-"Temperature-Pressure Relief Vahres"for installationand mainte- nance of relief valve, dischargeline, and other safetyprecautions.

Sears has long been a household name in American retail history, with its roots dating back to the late 19th century. The brand has transformed over the years, adapting to changing consumer needs and market trends, and its products have evolved with advancements in technologies and consumer preferences.

At the core of Sears' appeal has traditionally been its diverse range of offerings, from appliances and tools to clothing and home goods. In particular, Sears has been known for its line of Kenmore appliances, which are celebrated for their reliability and efficiency. The Kenmore brand has continually introduced innovative technologies that enhance user experience, such as energy-efficient washing machines and smart refrigerators that can be monitored from smartphones.

Sears has also been at the forefront of implementing retail technologies. The use of barcode scanning and point of sale systems streamlined the shopping experience, allowing for quicker checkouts and more accurate inventory management. Additionally, Sears embraced e-commerce early in the internet revolution, providing customers with online shopping options that catered to the growing demand for convenience.

Another distinguishing feature of Sears is its commitment to private label brands, such as Craftsman and DieHard, known for their quality and performance. Craftsman tools have been a staple for DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike, offering a wide range of products from hand tools to power equipment. Similarly, DieHard batteries are synonymous with reliability, making them a top choice for consumers when it comes to automotive needs.

In recent years, Sears has faced significant challenges due to shifts in retail shopping behavior, with many consumers moving to online platforms and discount retailers. Despite this, the company is working to modernize its approach, focusing on the integration of an omnichannel strategy that marries in-store and online shopping experiences.

With the ongoing evolution of retail, Sears continues to adapt, leveraging its history and brand recognition while exploring new technologies and methods to capture the attention of a modern consumer base. Whether through enhancing its product offerings or embracing the latest retail technologies, Sears remains a significant player in the retail landscape, aiming to navigate the changing tides of consumer preferences and market conditions.
