5SEALING THE DOOR TO THE EXTERIOR WALL CLADDING

Note: When applying the casing bead for stucco, leave 1/2" space between the head of the door and the casing bead, and 3/8" space between the door jambs and the casing bead for backer rod and sealant. Refer to the illustration (Southwestern Wall With Stucco).

C. Apply a bead of high quality exterior grade sealant to the entire perimeter of the door. At each end of the bottom of the door, insert sealant into the spaces between the bottom of the door and the sill support and connect it to the perimeter sealant.
