Se a sonda tiver sido seguramente introduzida no canal auditivo durante todo o processo de medi- ção, no final do mesmo soará um sinal acústico contínuo. Assim está assegurada uma medição da temperatura precisa. O resultado aparecerá no écran (5).

Se medir a temperatura a outra pessoa, a luz indicadora «ExacTemp» (7) servirá de ajuda. Mantém-se acesa durante o processo de medi- ção, desde que a sonda esteja seguramente posicionada, e emite luz intermitente sempre que se efectue uma leitura com precisão.

4.Caso a sonda não tenha sido mantida numa posição estável no canal auditivo, soará uma sequência de pequenos sinais sonoros, a luz «ExacTemp» apagar-se-á, e no mostrador aparecerá uma mensagem de erro

(«POS» = posição incorrecta).

5.Em cada nova medição, retirar o protector higiénico (carregar botão (4)) á utilizado e colocar um novo e limpo protector.

IRT 4020: para limpar o écran carregue no botão

de funcionamento uma vez.

IRT 4520: para limpar o écran carregue no botão «I/O» uma vez.

Aguarde pelo sinal beep. Coloque cuidadosa- mente a sonda no canal auditivo e carregue no botão de funcionamento.

O Termómetro auricular Braun ThermoScan desliga-se automaticamente após 60 segundos de inactividade.

O IRT 4520 poderá também ser desligado carregan- do durante 3 segundos no botão «I/O».

O écran piscará «OFF» durante algum tempo e após retirar o dedo o écran ficará branco.

Entender a temperatura

•A temperatura retirada do ouvido direito poderá ser diferente da leitura do ouvido esquerdo. Portanto deverá retirar a temperatura sempre no mesmo ouvido.

•O ouvido deverá estar livre de obstruções ou excesso de cera de modo a retirar uma leitura precisa.

•Factores exteriores que poderão influenciar a temperatura, incluindo quando o indivíduo:

– estiver deitado sobre um ouvido ou outro,
