POLARIZED PLUG	This appliance has a polarized plug—one blade
	is wider than the other. To reduce the risk of
	electric shock, this plug will fit into a polarized
	outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully
	into the outlet, reverse it. If it still does not fit,
	contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
	defeat this safety feature by modifying the plug
	in any way.
TAMPER-RESISTANT	This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resis-
	tant screw to prevent removal of the bottom
	cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric
	shock, do not attempt to remove the bottom
	cover. There are no user serviceable parts
	inside. Repair should be done only by autho-
	rized service personnel (see Insert Sheet for a
	list of Black & Decker Company-Owned or
	Authorized Service Centers).

How To Use

PREPARATION

FOR USE

1.Before the first use, remove all stickers, packing material, and literature.

2.Clean the Carafe, Filter Basket, Permanent Filter, and Carafe Lid by washing in hot, sudsy water or in a dishwasher—top rack only. Rinse thoroughly.

3.Brew 4 cups of fresh water through the sys- tem as instructed in the BREWING COFFEE instructions on the next page, but do not add coffee grounds.
