tab on the burner base with the indentation in the

BURNER BASE

head. The two pins will fit in the slots when the tab is aligned with the indentation.

NOTE: When burner heads are removed for cleaning, do not spill liquids through the holes in the burner base.

Before You Call For Service

Check the followinglist to be sure a service call is really necessary.

If surfaceburnerfails to light:

#check to be sure unit is properly connectedto power supply.

¢checkfor a blown fuse or a trippedmain circuitbreaker.

¢check to be sureburner is correctlyrated for your type of gas. check to be sureburner ports or ignitionports are not clogged. checkto be sureignitor is dry andclicking.Burner will not light

if ignitoris damaged,soiled orwet. If ignitordoesn't click, turn control knob OFF.

checkto be sure theburnerhead is correctlyseated on theburner base.

If the flame is uneven:

burnerportsmay be clogged.

make suretheburnerheadis correctlyseatedontheburnerbase.

If surfaceburnerflame lifts off the ports:

If surfaceburnerflame is yellow in color:

O contactan authorizedJenn-AirServiceContractor.

¢some yellowtips on the flamesare acceptablewhen using LP gas.

If ventilationsystem is not capturingsmoke efficiently:

¢check on cross ventilationin roomor make up air. outside wallcapmay be trapped shut.

¢cooktopmaybeimproperlyinstalled(seep.3);checkinstallation

instructions.

¢ check filter installation(seep. 5).
