Installation and Connection Instructions

Connecting the Dishwasher

Water Connection

The dishwasher is fitted with safety devices that prevent the wash water returning into the drinking water system and comply with the applicable plumbing regulations.

The dishwasher must be connected to a cold water supply.

The dishwasher must not be connected to open hot water appliances or instantaneous water heaters.

Permitted water pressure

Lowest permitted water pressure:

Consult your installer if the water pres-

1 bar (=10 N/cm2 =100 kPa)

sure is less than 1 bar.

Highest permitted water pressure:

In the case of a water pressure greater

10 bar (=100 N/cm2 =1 MPa)

than 10 bar, a pressure reduction valve

must be used (available from your

dealer).

Connect the inlet hose

1

The water inlet hose must not be kinked, crushed or entangled when it

is being connected up.

0Connect the threaded hose fitting (ISO 228-1:2000) on the water inlet hose to a tap with an external thread (¾ inch). The inlet hose is equipped either with a plastic or with a metal connection nut:

Tighten plastic hose connection nuts by hand only.

Metal hose connection nuts must be tightened using an appropriate tool. Finally, visually check that it is water-tight (ensure that the tap is not dripping).

3

• In order that access to the tap in the kitchen is not limited by the use

of the dishwasher, we recommend the installation of an additional

tap, or fitting a two way adapter to the existing tap.

• If you need a longer water inlet hose than that supplied, VDE approved complete hose sets are to be used. These are available from your local Service Force Centre.

• Do not use, for connection, old hoses which have been used for another appliance.

40740 specifications

The AEG 40740 is a state-of-the-art washing machine that embodies modern efficiency and convenience, perfect for households looking to simplify their laundry experience without compromising on performance. Packed with innovative technologies and thoughtful design features, the AEG 40740 stands out in the competitive laundry appliance market.

One of the standout characteristics of the AEG 40740 is its impressive Energy Efficiency Class, which ensures that it operates with minimal energy consumption while still providing powerful cleaning capabilities. This not only contributes to lower utility bills but also aligns with environmentally friendly practices, making it a responsible choice for eco-conscious consumers.

The AEG 40740 incorporates advanced ProSense Technology, which automatically adjusts the washing cycle based on the load size. This feature optimizes water and energy consumption, ensuring that each load is treated appropriately, whether it’s a small batch of delicate fabrics or a full load of heavy-duty items. Users appreciate this flexibility as it allows for thorough washing without wasted resources.

Another noteworthy technology featured in the AEG 40740 is the SoftWater system. This unique approach uses a special filter to soften the water, which enhances detergent efficacy and protects fabrics. By reducing the hardness of the water, the machine helps maintain the quality and appearance of clothes, ensuring they look newer for longer. This technology is pivotal for maintaining vibrant colors and preventing fabric wear.

In terms of capacity, the AEG 40740 is designed to handle large loads, making it ideal for busy households. With a generous drum capacity, it accommodates everything from everyday laundry to bulkier items like bedding and towels, streamlining laundry tasks and saving precious time.

Another feature that stands out is its quiet operation. The machine is engineered to reduce noise levels during both washing and spinning, allowing users to run cycles at any time without disturbing the household. This is particularly beneficial for those living in apartments or shared spaces.

User-friendliness is also a hallmark of the AEG 40740. It comes equipped with an intuitive control panel, allowing for easy selection of programs and settings. With a range of tailored programs available, including settings for specific fabrics and stain removal, users can achieve optimal results with minimal effort.

In summary, the AEG 40740 is a top-tier washing machine that combines cutting-edge technology with practical features designed to enhance the laundry experience. From energy efficiency and load optimization to gentle fabric care and quiet operation, it offers everything a modern household needs for effective and reliable laundry care.
