WARNING: Do not short the “+” and “_” outputs to each other. Doing so will short the

outputs and may damage the amplifier.

For complete wiring details, see “Rear Panel Features and Operation” in the user guide.

5.Bridge outputs (XPA 2002, XPA 2004) — Bridging the output of input 1 (for the XPA 2002) or inputs 1 and 3 (for the XPA 2004) doubles the output of those inputs. See

“Bridged mode output” in the user guide for further details.

Bridge mode: XPA 2002

Bridging takes the signal from input 1 and outputs the combined output of 400 watts from the + terminals of output channels 1 and 2. Toggle the bridged output mode switch up (bridged) or down (unbridged). See the diagram at right.

Bridge mode: XPA 2004

Bridging takes the signal from input 1 or input 3 or both and outputs the combined output of 400 watts from the

+terminals of output channels 1 and 2 (Bridge A), or output channels 3 and 4 (Bridge B), or both. Toggle the bridged output mode switch up (bridged) or down (unbridged) for the appropriate input channel. See the diagram at right.

6.Reconnect all power cords and switch on all other equipment before powering up the power amplifier. The amplifier must be powered up last. The front panel LED of the amplifier should light green.

7.Adjust the audio level using the rear panel adjustment screws, shown at right.

(no filtering) and 80 Hz. The XPA 2002-70V has two switches, one for each output channel. The

XPA 2003C-70V has one switch for the 70V line distribution output channel (channel 3). Setting the switch to 80 Hz prevents the saturation of 70V speaker input transformers by low frequency signals.

9. If desired, wire a contact closure device to the remote standby connector. Connecting pin 2 to ground (pin 1) places the amplifier in standby mode. Standby mode

turns off all outputs, although the amplifier is still receiving power.

Use the included 2-pin, 3.5 mm captive screw connector to jumper the pins.

Extron Electronics offers a comprehensive range of professional power amplifiers designed for a variety of audio applications. Among these, the XPA 2003C-70V, XPA 2004, XPA 2002, XPA 2002-70V, and XPA 2002-100V stand out for their versatility and efficiency.

The XPA 2003C-70V is particularly notable for its three-channel design, which enables simultaneous connections to multiple speakers in commercial AV installations. It operates at 70 volts, ensuring that long wiring runs do not degrade audio quality. This model employs Extron's patented Class D technology, effectively minimizing heat generation and allowing for a compact form factor. It also features a high-efficiency thermal management system to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

The XPA 2004, on the other hand, is a four-channel amplifier ideal for larger systems. It is similarly designed using Class D technology, offering remarkable efficiency and lightweight construction. This model is equipped with balanced and unbalanced inputs, making it compatible with a wide range of audio sources. Its robust output allows for driving multiple speakers without sacrificing sound quality, making it a favorite for both corporate and educational environments.

The XPA 2002 is a two-channel amplifier that provides reliable performance with 200 watts per channel. It is perfect for smaller applications where powerful audio output is required without the need for multiple channels. Furthermore, it features integrated protections against overload and thermal issues, ensuring consistent operation.

For projects requiring a 70-volt system, the XPA 2002-70V provides a powerful solution. This model supports long-distance signal distribution while delivering exceptional clarity in audio reproduction. Its versatile configuration options make it easy to integrate into existing systems.

Lastly, the XPA 2002-100V is engineered specifically for high-power applications.
