6 Installation instructions

1Establish the desired height of the rangehood above the benchtop according to the ‘Installation height requirements’ above. Measure this distance from the top of the benchtop and, using a spirit level, draw a light horizontal line on the wall. Make sure that the line can easily be erased or will be hidden after installation. This is where the bottom of the rangehood will sit (Fig.2).

2Mark the position of the rangehood on the wall. Using a spirit level, also mark a vertical line intersecting the horizontal line, (ensuring that the line can easily be erased or will be hidden after installation) showing the position where the centre of the rangehood will be. This is normally over the centre of the cooktop (Fig.3).

3Remove the grease filters (this is to make installation easier). Press inward on the catch, found on the handle, and pull the filter downward (Fig.4).

4Determine location of the fixing “keyholes” on the wall. The hood is secured to the wall by two “keyholes” located above the motor behind the air exit opening. From the point where the horizontal and vertical lines drawn earlier intercept, use a spirit level and pencil and draw another horizontal line 290mm above the first horizontal line (ensuring that the line can easily be erased or the line will be hidden after installation) as shown in Fig.5. This now indicates where the top of the “fixing keyholes” are.

Where the vertical line meets the top horizontal line (just drawn), measure and mark both sides of the vertical line, showing where to drill.

Fisher & Paykel has made a significant mark in the kitchen appliance market, and their range hoods are no exception. Among their popular models are the HC90PCIX2 and HC60PCIX2, both offering a blend of sophisticated design, cutting-edge technology, and robust performance.

The HC90PCIX2 model features a sleek and contemporary design, suitable for modern kitchens. With a width of 90 cm, it provides substantial coverage over larger cooking surfaces. Similarly, the HC60PCIX2 offers a more compact 60 cm size, ideal for smaller kitchens without sacrificing performance. Both models are constructed from high-quality stainless steel, ensuring durability and a stylish aesthetic that complements various kitchen decors.

These range hoods are equipped with powerful extraction capabilities, effectively removing smoke, steam, and odors from the kitchen. The HC90PCIX2 has a maximum extraction rate of up to 1,200 m³/h, making it suitable for professional cooking environments or large family gatherings. Meanwhile, the HC60PCIX2, with a slightly lower extraction rate, still excels in everyday cooking scenarios.

One of the notable features of both models is their advanced lighting system. Energy-efficient LED lights illuminate the cooking surface, enhancing visibility and making the cooking process easier and safer. Moreover, the intuitive controls allow users to adjust ventilation speeds and lighting settings effortlessly, catering to different cooking needs.

Both range hoods utilize a sophisticated ducted or recirculated installation option. The ducted option efficiently expels airborne contaminants outside, while the recirculated installation incorporates charcoal filters to clean and recirculate air within the kitchen, offering flexibility based on the kitchen layout and user preference.

In terms of noise levels, Fisher & Paykel has prioritized a quieter operation with these models. The sound insulation technology ensures that both the HC90PCIX2 and HC60PCIX2 operate at low decibel levels, maintaining a serene kitchen environment even during peak cooking times.

To sum it up, the Fisher & Paykel HC90PCIX2 and HC60PCIX2 range hoods are exemplary choices for anyone looking to enhance their kitchen with efficient, stylish, and advanced ventilation solutions. With their powerful extraction, contemporary design, and user-friendly features, they stand out as top contenders in the modern kitchen appliance market.
