Chapter 5. Migration experiences

In this chapter we provide the information received during the migration process executed on the CATIA clients and the NFS and NIS server.

Though not all individual AIX configurations are covered, most of the installation is similar to a customer environment.

The overall outcome of the migration process is very good. In most of our tested cases, the migration worked without incident. Only a few things occurred that required manual intervention from a system administrator.

CATIA and ENOVIA performed as designed after the migration without changing anything within these software products. Therefore, we recommend that you migrate directly to the AIX 5L Version 5.1 5100-05 maintenance package, as we discovered no software failure that caused CATIA and ENOVIA to abend.
