Figure 4-1 Migration hardware used
During our migration testing we used the following software products installed on the CATIA clients and the F80 Server:
AIX Version 4.3.3 with Maintenance Level 10
CATIA Version 4.2.4 Refresh 2
CATIA Version 5 Release 12
EDNOVIA 3D Portal Server Verion 5 Release 12
We have migrated the AIZ operating system level to AIX 5L Version 5.1 with Maintenance Level 5. Both CATIA versions and the EDNOVIA 3D Portal Server products ran well after the migration.
4.2 Migration using NIM
We selected NIM for the test migration. With NIM we could do the migration in a singe step without changing AIX base operating CDs, the AIX bonus pack CD, AIX expansion pack CDs, AIX documentation CDs, compiler CDs, and maintenance level CDs. In other words, a lot of time sitting in front of the servers was saved by this remote process, and we feel it will be saved for you as well.
