MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operation, switch the product off by pressing button (1) on the control panel for 3 seconds, then unplug the appliance or disconnect it from the power supply.
Cleaning the freezer compartment
Defrosting of the freezer compartment is completely automatic.
If you wish to clean the compartment, switch the appliance off as previously indicated and proceed as follows:
1.Open the freezer door and remove all the food, wrapping it close together in sheets of newspaper and put in a very cool place or in a portable cooler.
2.Clean the inside of the freezer with a sponge soaked in a solution of lukewarm water and/or mild detergent. Do not use abrasive substances.
3.Rinse and dry thoroughly.
4.Close the freezer door.
5.Reconnect the appliance to the power supply and press the button (1) again for 3 seconds. An acoustic signal (temperature alarm) will sound; to deactivate it, press the button (11). When the red light (10) goes off put the food back in the freezer.
Note:
•For a more thorough cleaning of the freezer compartment the glass shelves can be removed by slightly lifting the front above the stop and pulling outwards.
•If the compartment is not used for prolonged periods, it is advisable to leave the freezer door open to prevent the formation of mould, odours and oxidation.
Cleaning the refrigerator compartment Refrigerator compartment defrosting is completely automatic.
Droplets of water on the rear wall inside the refrigerator compartment indicate that the automatic defrost phase is in progress. The defrost water is automatically run into a drain hole and collected in a container, where it evaporates.
Clean the defrost water drain hole regularly using the tool supplied, in order to ensure the constant and correct flow of defrost water.
