Before You Call For Service
If you are having an operating problem, check the chart to see what the cause might be before you call for assistance.
OPERATING PROBLEM
Nothing operates.
Oven will not operate.
Surface units will not operate.
Control knob(s) will not turn.
If the
CHECK IF
n Range is properly connected to a live circuit with the proper voltage.
9 Your home’s main fuse has blown or circuit breaker has tripped.
. The Oven Selector is turned to BAKE or BROIL.
n The Oven Temperature Control is turned to a temperature setting.
. The Cook Timer is set correctly.
1 Range is connected to electrical power.
n Your home’s main fuse has blown or circuit breaker has tripped.
n You pushed in knob(s) before trying to turn.
nThe Oven Selector is set to CLEAN.
9 A delay start time is set.
nA stop time is set.
WHAT TO DO
9 Contact an authorized RoperSMservice technician to reconnect range to electrical supply. (See Installation Instructions.)
nReplace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
9If needed, set Oven Selector to BAKE or BROIL. If Oven Selector is turned to TIMED BAKE, wait until the start time is reached.
1If needed, turn the Oven Temperature Control to a temperature setting.
nSee page 5 for instructions on how to set the Cook Timer.
nContact an authorized RoperSMservice technician to reconnect range to electrical supply. (See Installation Instructions.)
1 Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
. Push in knob(s) before turning.
nIf needed, set the Oven Selector to CLEAN.
m Wait until the delay start time has been reached.

Cooking results are not what you expected.
The oven temperature seems too low or too high.
If there has been a power interruption, the display will flash “12:OO”.
. The range is level.
nPans are the size called for in the recipe.
. You are following a tested recipe from a reliable source.
1 The cooking utensils have smooth, flat bottoms and fit the surface units.
mWhen baking, you have preheated the oven as the recipe calls for.
n When baking, you have allowed 1 l/2 to 2 inches
n When broiling, you have not completely closed the oven door.
1 Your old oven was accurate. Your old oven may have shifted gradually while your new oven may be more exact.
n Adjust leveling legs.
. Use
nModify recipe or find a new recipe.
nUse cooking utensils with smooth, flat bottoms.
nPreheat the oven according to recipe’s specifications.
1 Reposition pans for best air circulation.
. Open oven door to the Broil Stop position.
. If, after using the oven, you are not satisfied with the temperature settings, they can be adjusted by an authorized RoperSMservice technician. (See “Howto get service or assistance” on page 12.)
