Baking or Roasting
Setting the Oven Controls
1. Position the rack(s) properly before turning on the oven. To change rack position, lift rack at front and pull out. For information on positioning racks, see “HowTo Position Racks and Pans” on page 11.
3.Set the Oven Temperature Control to the baking temperature you want. The OVEN HEATINGIndicator Light will come on. The oven is pre- heated when the OVEN HEATING Indicator Light first goes off.
NOTE: Do not preheat oven when roasting or cooking items such as casseroles.
5.When baking is done, turn both the Oven Selector and Oven Tem- perature Control to OFFThe OVEN HEATINGIndicator Light will go off.
2. Set the Oven Selector to BAKE.
4.Put food in the oven. During baking, the elements will turn on and off to keep the oven tempera- ture at the setting. The OVEN HEAT- ING Indicator Light will turn on and off with the elements.
The top element helps heat during baking, but does not turn red.
