Troubleshooting

Most cooking problems often are caused by little things that you can find and fix without tools of any kind. Check the lists below and on the next page before calling for assistance or service. If you still need help, call Sears Service at 1-800-4-MY-HOME.

MICROWAVE OVEN DOES NOT WORK

PROBLEM

CAUSE

 

 

Nothing works.

•The power supply cord is not plugged into a grounded 3 prong outlet.

 

(See the “Electrical Requirements” and

 

“Electrical Connection” sections.)

 

•A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped.

 

•The electric company has had a power failure.

 

 

The microwave oven will

CAUSE

 

 

The turntable will not turn.

•The turntable is not correctly in place. The glass plate should be

 

correct-side up and sitting firmly on the center shaft.

 

•The turntable has been set to OFF.

 

•The support is not operating correctly. Remove the turntable and

 

restart the oven. If the support still does not move, call Sears Service

 

at 1-800-4-MY-HOME. Cooking without the turntable can give you

 

poor results.

 

 

TONES

PROBLEMCAUSE

You do not hear the programming or end-of-cycle tone.

•You have not entered the correct command.
