No. If you remove or turn over the turntable, you will get poor cooking results. Dishes used in your oven must fit on the turntable.

You can use aluminum foil for shielding (use small, fiat pieces), small skewers, and shallow foil trays (if tray is not taller than 3/4 in. [1.9 cm] deep and is filled with food to absorb microwave energy). Never allow metal to touch walls or door.
