If the unit will be stored for longer than 60 days:

Drain all gasoline from the gas tank into a container and dispose in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Start the engine and allow it to run until it stalls. This ensures that all gasoline has been drained from the carburetor.

Allow the engine to cool and remove the spark plug and put 1 oz. (30ml) of high quality motor oil into the

cylinder. Pull the starter rope slowly to distribute the oil and reinstall the spark plug.

NOTE: Remove the spark plug and drain all of the oil from the cylinder before attempting to start the unit after storage.

Change oil. Refer to Engine Maintenance. Dispose of the oil in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Store unit in a clean, dry area. Do not store next to corrosive materials such as fertilizer.

For more compact storage, store unit in the shipping position with the upper handle folded toward engine. See ASSEMBLY section for details.
