MAINTENANCE

SPARK ARRESTOR

The muffler is equipped with a spark arrestor screen inside muffler body. After extended use the screen can become dirty and may need to have the muffler replaced by an authorized servicing dealer.

WARNING:

Never run the blower without the spark arrestor in place. Failure to do so could result in a fire that could cause serious personal injury.

CLEANING THE EXHAUST PORT AND MUFFLER

Depending on the type of fuel used, the type and amount of oil used, and/or your operating conditions, the exhaust port and muffler may become blocked with carbon deposits. If you notice low power from the blower, have a qualified service technician check the exhaust port and muffler for carbon deposits. Removing the carbon deposits should restore performance to the blower.

FUEL CAP

WARNING:

A leaking fuel cap is a fire hazard and must be replaced immediately. Failure to do so could result in a fire that could cause serious personal injury.

The fuel cap contains a non-serviceable filter and a check valve. A clogged fuel filter will cause poor engine performance. If performance improves when the fuel cap is loosened, the check valve may be faulty or filter clogged. Replace the fuel cap if required.

SPARK PLUG

This engine uses a Champion RCJ-6Y with 0.63 mm (0.025 in.) electrode gap. Use an exact replacement and replace annually.

WARNING:

Be careful not to cross-thread the spark plug. Cross- threading will seriously damage the product.

STORAGE (1 MONTH OR LONGER)

Drain all fuel from the tank into a container approved for gasoline. Run engine until it stops.

Clean all foreign material from the blower. Store it in a well- ventilated place that is inaccessible to children. Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts.

Abide by all Federal and local regulations for the safe storage and handling of gasoline. Excess fuel should be used up in other 2-cycle engine powered equipment.

UT08570, UT08571 specifications

The Homelite UT08571 and UT08570 are powerful and efficient string trimmers designed for homeowners and professional landscapers alike. Engineered to simplify garden maintenance, these trimmers are equipped with advanced features that enhance performance and ease of use.

One of the standout characteristics of both models is their lightweight design, which promotes maneuverability while minimizing user fatigue. Weighing in at just under 10 pounds, these trimmers allow for extended use without discomfort. The ergonomic handle design provides a more natural grip, contributing to a seamless trimming experience.

The UT08571 and UT08570 are powered by robust 25cc two-cycle engines. This engine technology delivers ample power to tackle thick weeds and tall grass with ease. The engines ensure efficient fuel consumption, allowing for longer run times before refueling, which is a significant advantage for those undertaking larger landscaping projects.

Both models showcase a bump feed head system that allows for quick and easy line advancement. Simply bumping the trimmer head against the ground releases more string, ensuring that users can maintain continuous operation without the need to stop and manually adjust the line. The dual line cutting feature enhances efficiency, allowing for a wider cutting path of 17 inches, which further speeds up the trimming process.

In terms of technology, the trimmers are designed with a centrifugal clutch that engages the trimmer head only when the throttle is pressed. This feature reduces wear on the engine and string, extending the lifespan of the tool. Additionally, the translucent fuel tank allows users to monitor fuel levels without opening the tank, reducing the risk of spills and facilitating easier refueling.

For those looking for versatility, both models are compatible with various attachments, enabling users to convert them for different landscaping tasks, such as edging or pruning. This adaptability makes the UT08571 and UT08570 excellent additions to any gardening toolkit.

Safety considerations are also paramount in the design of these trimmers. They come with protective guards to shield users from debris, ensuring a safer trimming experience. With easy start technology, both models feature a simple start mechanism that minimizes the effort required to fire up the engine.

Overall, the Homelite UT08571 and UT08570 string trimmers are a blend of innovation, efficiency, and user-friendly features, making them ideal choices for maintaining a pristine yard or garden. Whether you are a seasoned gardener or just starting, these trimmers provide reliability and power for all your trimming needs.
