INPUT AND OUTPUT

Balanced

CONNECTIONS

A symmetricalinput or output circuit that has equal impedancefrom

 

both input terminals to a commongroundreference point. Theindus-

 

try standardfor professionalandsoundrecordinginstallations, bal-

 

ancedconnections have 6 dB moregain than single-ended connec-

 

tions andallow the useof long interconnect cables. Balancedcon-

 

nections are completely immuneto inducednoise from the systemor

 

the environment.

 

Single-ended

 

A two-wireinput or output circuit. Usecare whenusing single-ended

 

connectionsas the groundconnectionis madelast andbrokenfirst.

 

Tumthe systemoff prior to makingor breaking single-endedconnec:

OPERATION
