Turning on the Power

zChecking the Battery Level

When the power switch is set to <1>, the battery level will be indicated in one of four levels:

z: Battery level is OK.

x : Battery level is less than half full.

c: Battery will be exhausted soon. (Blinks)

n: Battery must be recharged.

The figures above are based on a fully-charged Battery Pack LP-E10, no Live View shooting, and CIPA ( amera & Imaging Products Association) testing standards.

The number of possible shots will decrease with any of the following operations:

Pressing the shutter button halfway for a prolonged period.

Often activating only the AF without taking a picture.

Using the LCD monitor often.

Using the lens Image Stabilizer.

The lens operation is powered by the camera’s battery. Depending on the lens used, the number of possible shots may be lower.
