Carriers want to deploy DSLAM solutions that can leverage their existing telecommu- nications resources. They are looking for solutions that control cost, promote effi- ciency, and simplify operations. The ADTRAN Total Access 1210 is a temperature- hardened DSLAM that enables delivery of 24 ports of POTS and ADSL from smaller Central Offices (COs), Controlled Environmental Vaults (CEVs), Multiple Dwelling Units (MDUs), and Remote Terminals (RTs). The ADSL is generated locally and placed, via onboard splitters, on the same pair as the corresponding POTS signal for delivery to the customer. The DSLAM performs Inverse Multiplexing over ATM (IMA) for up to four E1 IMA links.
ADTRAN has engineered a compact, 1U high unit that provides RT space savings while offering multiple options for placement within the RT. Design flexibility leverages existing facilities and enables the Total Access 1210 to be mounted as a rack, wall, or vertical positioned unit inside the RT. It measures 4.45 cm H x 43.82 cm W x 28.26 cm D and offers redundant power using
The Total Access 1210 offers a scalable network interface today with the Quad IMA module. Future capabilities include Octal IMA, DS3, and
