1 Set FUNCTION to CD.

2 Press CD OPEN to open the disc

compartment and place a disc with the

printed side down on the disc compartment lid.

NOTE - Do not place smaller than 3-inch (8 cm) discs.

The total number of tracks is displayed.

“1”indicates the 1st track, and “*1” indicates the 11th track. ‘H” and a flashing “=”indicate the 21st , 31st . 91st track.

3 Press 1I PLAY/PAUSE to start play.

The number of the track being played is displayed.

4 Turn VOLUME and BASS to adjust the sound.

STOP – Stops play.

11 PLAY/PAUSE –-Pauses play. To resume play, press again.

M,- SKIP/SEARCH – Searches for a particular point during playback. Keep 144 or M pressed and then release it.

Skips to the beginning of a track. Press l++ or W repeatedly.

REPEAT – Repeats a single track or all tracks. Select as follows.

The REPEAT indicator flashes: A single track is played repeatedly. Select a track with K or M.

The REPEAT indicator lights up: All tracks are played repeatedly.

NOTE

Do not use irregular shape CDs (example: heart-shaped, octagonal ones).

It may result in malfunctions.

Do not place more than one disc in the disc compartment.

Do not try to open the disc compartment during play.

Do not touch the lens. Doing so may cause malfunctions.

FM MODE/OSC

-Sets the FM sound to stereo or monaural. STEREO: Reception is stereo.

MONO: When an FM stereo broadcast contains noise, set to MONO. Noise is reduced, although reception is monaural.

-If a high-pitched sound is heard during recording from AM, set this switch to another position.

NOTE

If the unit picks up noise from other electrical appliances nearby, like a TV or fluorescent lights, move the unit away.

To turn off the unit, set FUNCTION to (!) STANDBY POWER so that the OPE/BATT indicator goes out.

To listen with the headphones, connect headphones with a stereo mini plug to the Q (Headphones) jack.

QSOUND system

This system provides a rich, three dimensional sound area. You can enjoy a more enhanced sound.

Press QSOUND.

At higher volumes, turning QSOUND on may cause sound distortion. In this case, turn the volume down.
