Supports Network and Facility Protection

This product offers both SONET and facility protection, allowing the continuation of service in the event of a failure. It offers a variety of configurations to deliver carrier-class services to customers, including:

•Up to 16 fully protected DS-1s and 2 DS-3s

•Four 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet private lines

•OC-3 or OC-12 high speed interface

•1+1 or UPSR protection

Circuit pack redundancy in the main 1 and main 2 slots offers facility protection, traffic restoration, and circuit pack replacement without loss of service. The 1665 DMXplore system can be upgraded in-service to support additional DS-1 and DS-3 interfaces. Plus, the shelf can be equipped to serve diverse network appli- cations and a variety of current and evolving network operations needs. These capabilities extend carrier-class reliability all the way to the network edge.
