Larger Subwoofer Unit

The larger subwoofer unit contains no stereo imaging, and its sound is non-directional. As a result, the subwoofer doesn’t have to be placed in any particular relationship to the smaller speaker unit and may be hidden under a desk or placed in the corner of the room. Placing the subwoofer on the floor close to a wall or room corner provides better bass efficiency and optimum sound.

Stacking the Smaller and Larger Units

The smaller speaker unit and larger subwoofer unit can also be stacked in one location by placing the speaker unit on top of the subwoofer unit.

Warning: The larger subwoofer unit is not magnetically shielded. As such, it SHOULD be placed at least 2 feet (0.6m) from TVs, computer monitors, computer hard drives or any other magnetic media (e.g., floppy disks, Zip disks, computer or audio tapes, etc.).

Making Connections

To ensure first-time operation as expected, please carefully follow the connection sequences described below in the order indicated.

1.Place the appropriate SIRIUS docking cup and adapter inside the docking bay. Docking cups and adapters are identified with molded in numbers that correspond to specific SIRIUS receiver models. The docking cup and adapters are shown on the quick connection guide that is printed on the inside flaps of the carton. This information is also available by visiting www.alteclansing.com/SR4021.

2.Place your SIRIUS receiver inside the correct docking cup/adapter combination.

3.If you choose to stack the smaller and larger units, insert the DIN cable from the larger subwoofer unit into the input marked “DIN” on the back of the smaller speaker unit. If you choose to hide the larger subwoofer unit, plug one end of the DIN cable extension into the DIN cable from the larger subwoofer unit, and plug the other end of the DIN cable extension into the back of the smaller speaker unit.

4.Insert the power cord into a wall outlet.
