Isolated Extension Cable Operation and LEDs

Behavior of UPS	When illuminated yellow, the UPS ON and UPS OFF LEDs
End LEDs	on the UPS End Unit indicate that the UPS is being momen-
	tarily commanded to turn its output on or off.
	Note: These indicators do not reflect the current state of
	the UPS.
Normal	Under normal operation with an APC UPS that uses Smart
operation:	Signaling — Smart-UPS	® , Matrix-UPS™ , or Symmetra™
Smart-Signaling	PowerArray™ — only the	RXD/AC FAIL LED on the Server
UPSs	End Unit and the DATA LED on the UPS End Unit flicker;
	no other LEDs illuminate.
Normal	Under normal operation with an APC UPS that uses Simple
operation:	Signaling — Back- UPS® — no LEDs on either unit will illu-
Simple-Signaling	minate. To test the Isolated Extension Cable connected to a
UPSs	Back-UPS:
	1 Put the UPS into an AC Fail condition. (See the
	user manual supplied with your UPS.)

2 Observe that the RXD/AC FAIL LED on the Server End Unit turns green, indicating that the UPS is on battery.
