Programming Your Q90D

Your Q90D comes ready to use. However, we suggest you set up three basic features:

1.Phone Directory for memory dialing

2.MSG 1 for user-programmed messages

3.MSG 2 for user-programmed messages

Phone Directory

The Q90D allows you to set up a Phone Directory where you can store frequently used and emergency numbers in memory. It can store up to 24 numbers. Once you store a number in the directory, your Q90D can dial it for you.

Adding Names and Numbers to the Phone Directory

1.Press Power to turn ON the Q90D.

2.Press F1 to enter DIAL mode.

The screen reads, ENTER NAME OR NUMBER OR SELECT DIRECTORY.

3.Type the complete telephone number sequence, (use Spacebar for pauses). If it is a local number with the same area code, there is no need to type the area code. If you type an incorrect number, Backspace and then type the correct number over it and save it. It has the same dialing features as a standard telephone, with a few differences in the keys.

4.Press F8 to enter SAVE mode.

5.Press the Up or Down Arrow keys (next to the Power key) to select the location (1-24) where you wish to store the number.

6.After reaching the location where you want to store the number, press F8 again.

The screen displays EDIT CURRENT NAME Y/N?

7.Press Y (YES) and type the name that goes with the number.

8.Press Return key when you are finished. It then displays both the name and number you entered.

9.You can enter up to 24 phone numbers. To repeat this process and add more numbers, start at step 2.When finished, hold down CTRL and press Power to turn it OFF. If you want to continue to another Q90D function, simply press the ESC key.

Note:The telephone number stored in Directory 1 is automatically dialed when you press F3. Use this for your most frequently dialed number, such as your call Relay Service.

Saving Numbers with Extensions or Menu Options

1.If you want to save a number that has Menu choices and/or an extension that follows the main number, program it as you would a regular number, except when you come to the end of the main number, press the Spacebar before adding the option or extension. Then continue with the other steps in programming the number. For example, if you wanted to store the number (714) 640-2232, extension 323, you would press 7146402232 Spacebar 323.

2.A number may have more than one Menu option. Simply press the Spacebar before each one. However, when calling a credit card company, you might want to use the Relay Operator (711).
