Connect the Emergency Power Off option

The Emergency Power Off (EPO) option is a safety feature that will immediately remove power to all connected equipment. When the EPO button is pushed, all connected equipment will immediately turn off and will not switch to battery power.

Adhere to all national and local electrical codes when wiring the EPO.

1.Use the EPO terminal block supplied with the UPS.

2.Insert one wire from the EPO cable into the +24 terminal, and one wire into the IN terminal of the EPO terminal block.

3. Secure the connection by tightening the screws on the EPO terminal block.

4. Plug the terminal block into the UPS.

The EPO interface is a Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) circuit. Connect it only to other SELV circuits. The EPO interface monitors circuits that have no determined voltage potential. Such closure circuits may be provided by a switch or relay properly isolated from the utility. To avoid damage to the UPS, do not connect the EPO interface to any circuit other than a closure type circuit.

Use one of the following cable types to connect the UPS to the EPO switch.

CL2: Class 2 cable for general use.

CL2P: Plenum cable for use in ducts, plenums, and other spaces used for environmental air.

CL2R: Riser cable for use in a vertical run in a floor-to-floor shaft.

CLEX: Limited use cable for use in dwellings and for use in raceways.

For installation in Canada: Use only CSA certified, type ELC, (extra-low voltage control cable).

For installation in other countries: Use standard low-voltage cable in accordance with national and local regulations.

SUA3000, SUA2200 specifications

The APC SUA2200 and SUA3000 are well-regarded uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) from Schneider Electric, designed to provide reliable power backup and protection for critical electronic equipment. These models cater to a range of applications, from small business environments to larger enterprise setups, ensuring that devices remain operational during power outages or fluctuations.

Starting with the APC SUA2200, it boasts a capacity of 2200 VA / 1980 W, making it suitable for powering essential devices such as network equipment, servers, and workstations. One of its standout features is the Pure Sine Wave output, which ensures that sensitive electronics receive clean power, thus preventing potential damage or operational issues. Additionally, the SUA2200 comes equipped with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) technology, which stabilizes voltage levels and protects connected equipment from surges and sags.

Moving to the APC SUA3000, this model offers even greater capacity, rated at 3000 VA / 2700 W, making it ideal for larger deployments where more power is needed. Similar to the SUA2200, it also features Pure Sine Wave output and AVR technology for enhanced protection. The SUA3000 is designed with a graphical LCD interface that provides real-time information on power status, battery condition, and load levels, allowing users to monitor their UPS system with ease.

Both models utilize high-frequency technology, which results in a smaller and more efficient form factor compared to traditional line frequency UPS systems. They also feature multiple surge-protected outlets, enabling users to connect various devices simultaneously. The SmartSlot feature allows for additional management options with the installation of network management cards, enabling remote monitoring and management capabilities.

The battery management system incorporated into both models extends battery life and ensures efficient charging cycles. Users can expect longer runtimes and the ability to replace batteries easily when needed. Compatibility with APC's PowerChute software also enhances performance by providing advanced management capabilities and system monitoring.

In summary, the APC SUA2200 and SUA3000 serve as robust solutions for organizations seeking reliable power protection. Their combination of high capacity, advanced technologies like Pure Sine Wave output and AVR, along with user-friendly interfaces, make them ideal choices for safeguarding critical electronic equipment against power disruptions. These UPS systems not only ensure uninterrupted power supply but also foster longevity and operational efficiency in power management.
