Swapping Processor Upgrade Cards

This appendix provides important information about different processor upgrade cards and helps you know which ones can be installed in specific Macintosh computers you may have.

What to do with a used processor card

If you removed a 120 megahertz (MHz) processor card from your Power Macintosh 7600, 8500, or 9500 series computer, you can use it to upgrade the processor in a Power Macintosh 7500/100 model. Follow the instructions in Chapter 1 of this manual.

If you removed a 132 MHz or 150 MHz processor card from your Power Macintosh, you may be able to use it to upgrade another Power Macintosh model. Follow the steps on the next page to determine whether you can use the card in another computer.
