7.8 “Firmware and plug-ins” settings

“Firmware Ver.”

-displays the current version of the firmware and Digital Rights Management

(DRM) system.

“Plug-ins”

-displays the current plug-ins installed on your device.

“Product Key”

-each ARCHOS has a unique number.

-you will need this number to register your product online (www.archos.com/register).

“Firmware Update”

-use this button to update the firmware manually (see next section).

“Online Firmware Update”

-use this button to search for an online update via a WiFi / Ethernet network. If there is one available, it will be installed automatically. See next section to learn more.

7.9 Updating the Firmware

The firmware is the operating system (OS) of your ARCHOS. It is periodically updated to bring new features, improvements and bug fixes. There are two main ways to up- date your product’s firmware:

Directly on the ARCHOS TV+ via a WiFi / Ethernet network.

Using a computer connected to the internet and a USB key.
