Dealer Action
Dealers should take the following actions for eligible machines, loose engines and service parts inventory:
ELIGIBLE MACHINE AND LOOSE (“replacement”) ENGINES should not be sold until further notice. Complete the ENGINE APPLICATIONS and REPLACEMENT ENGINES section of the attached FUEL FILTER EXCHANGE/ PURCHASE ORDER FORM noting inventory of machines and replacement engines within the eligible engine range. Sign the completed
FUEL FILTER EXCHANGE/PURCHASE ORDER FORM on the Dealer Signature line and fax to Kawasaki Order Services at
SERVICE FUEL FILTER part number
Grip one of the fi ttings with a pair of pliers and twist until the fi tting is removed from the fi lter. The process is shown in Image 1 below.

Complete the REPLACEMENT FUEL FILTER section of the attached FUEL FILTER EXCHANGE/PURCHASE ORDER FORM noting the service part unsold inventory Qty’ of fuel fi lter
the Dealer Signature line and fax to Kawasaki Order Services at
ELIGIBLE TUNE UP KITS should be returned to Kawasaki. Complete the TUNE UP KITS section of the attached FUEL FILTER EXCHANGE/ PURCHASE ORDER FORM noting the number of eligible kits. Sign the completed FUEL FILTER EXCHANGE/PURCHASE ORDER FORM in the Dealer Signature line and fax to Kawasaki Order Services at
Kawasaki Action
Kawasaki will initiate a Factory Directed Modifi cation (FDM) to replace fuel fi lters on all eligible unsold engines by August 21, 2012. Currently Kawasaki has a limited supply of fuel
filters. Please complete and return the attached form for all eligible unsold units, engines and spare parts inventory by fax
replacement | fuel fi lters as soon as available. |
A corrective | action plan for consumer units |
will follow upon the Consumer Product Safety Commission review and approval.
