4. JMi cron JMB363® Seri al ATA RAI D connectors (7-pi n SATA_E1[ bl ack], SATA_E2[ bl ack] )

These connectors are for Serial ATA signal cables. These connectors support Serial ATA hard disk drives that you can configure for RAID through the onboard Serial ATA RAID controller.

The JMicron SATA controller mode item in the BIOS is set to [IDE] by default. Set the item to [RAID] if you want to build a RAID set. See section “2.4.5 Onboard Device Configuration” for details.

Before creating a RAID set using Serial ATA hard disks, make sure that you have connected the Serial ATA signal cables and installed

Serial ATA hard disk drives; otherwise, you cannot enter theJMicron® JMB363 RAID utility and SATA BIOS setup during POST.

Install an internal Serial ATA hard disk drive to SATA_E1 or SATA_E2 and an external Serial ATA hard disk drive on your system before creating the JMicron® JMB363 RAID.
