10.Internal line in connector (5-pin LINE_IN) (on audio models only)

This connector connects to an optional front panel audio module using a 5-pin audio cable. If your chassis has this audio module, you may conveniently connect a microphone on the front panel.

By default, pins 1 & 2 and pins 4 & 5 are shorted with jumper caps to make the Line In source available from the rear LINE IN jack. Remove these caps if you installed the Intel front panel audio cable.

11.Front panel audio connector (10-1 pin AAPANEL) (on audio models only)

This is an interface for the Intel front panel audio cable that allow convenient connection and control of audio devices.

Make sure to remove the caps from the LINE_IN connector, and the LO_L and LO_R jumpers if you installed the Intel front panel audio cable. Refer to page 2-23 for the location of the jumpers.
