AT&T 982 Switchable Data Port, Headset Jack

If you want to connect another device (such as a modem or fax machine)

to the wall jack,you can use the jack on the phone labeled DATA. You can

set the data port to use Line 1 or 2. Set the DATA SELECTswitch

located on the back of the phone to L1 or L2. A call picked up at another

extension on the line used by the data port may interrupt a fax,modem or

message transmission.

NOTE:Four char ged AA batteriesMUST be installed for the headset to

work correctly in all conditions.

You can use this phone hands-freewhen you install any industry standard

two-band 2.5mm headset (purchased separately). For best results, use an

AT&T two-band 2.5mm headset.

Make sure the headset is plugged into the headset jack on the right side

of the phone. You will hear an error tone if you press hwhen the

headset is not plugged in.
