• Take the monocular out of the case.
• Install the batter y into the housing with the polarit y order as shown on th e scope. Batter y
Type: 1.5 Volt, AA size .
• Press the button (short pr ess - less than 1.5 sec.) to turn the un it on by the protective lens
cover still attached to the lens. Do not turn the unit on in the daytime without the protec-
tive lens cap on. You should see green glow in the eyepiece.
• Observe the scene and adjust the diopter for optimal image clarity.
• You may now enter a dark environment or simply shut the lights off in order to darken the room.
• Next, remove the lens cap/dayli ght filter. Adjust the front lens for the dista nce of the focus.
You should not have to readjust the diopter.
• To turn the unit off, push the button again by short pres s (less than 1.5 sec.).
FOCUSINGTo focus the NVG-7, first you will need to ad just
the diopter. Simply turn the diopter clockwise until
it stops. Then, while looki ng throught the diopter
at an object, slowly turn the diopter back coun ter
clockwise until the grain in the image is sharp.
NOTE: We s uggest that yo u focus the di opter
during dayli ght with the fi lter on.
Next focus the front le ns until the image and t he
grain are bot h sharp. When you are in l ow-light
conditions a nd the daylig ht filter is o ff, you may
focus the fron t lens to rec eive sharp ima ge, the
diopter should not be adjusted.
NOTE: The front lens should be readjusted as you
view objects at different distances.
INFRA-RED ILLUMIN ATORInfra-red illuminato rs, or IR illuminators, ar e common to
night vision. The IR lig ht greatly enhance s the perform-
ance of the NVG-7 while remaining almos t totally invis -
ible to the naked eye.
The NVG-7 goggles have a built in IR with indicator “ON”
light within the FOV. To turn th e IR on, pus h the butt on
by long press (more than 1.5 sec.). It is impor tant to
remember th at the IR il luminator i s simply an infra red
light sour ce, and lik e any light source, i t may loos e its
effectiveness over a great distance.
To turn the IR of f, push the bu tton agai n by long pre ss
(more than 1.5 sec.).
NOTE: The IR will automatically turn off when the unit’s power is turned off.
