AXISVideoMotionDetection3isanapplicationthatdetectsmovingobjectsinthecamera’seldofview.Whenamovingobjectis
detected,AXISVideoMotionDetection3sendsanalarmthatcanbeusedbyAxisnetworkcamerasandvideoencoders,andby
third-partysoftware,to,forexample,recordvideoorsendanotication.
TouseAXISVideoMotionDetection3,theapplicationmustrstbeuploadedtotheAxisproductanditmustbestarted.Toavoid
detectingunwantedobjects,theapplicationshouldbecongured.Includeandexcludeareasareusedtodenethepartsofthescene
inwhichmovingobjectsshouldbedetected.Ignorelterscanbeusedtoavoiddetectingobjectssuchasshadowsofswayingtrees,
lightsfrompassingcarsandsmallanimalsregardlessofwhereinthescenetheobjectsappear.
Duringconguration,visualconrmationcanbeusedtohelpunderstandtheeffectofthedifferentlters.Whenvisualconrmation
isenabled,redpolygonsshowwhichobjectstheapplicationdetectsandgreenpolygonsshowwhichobjectstheapplicationignores.

AXISVideoMotionDetection3canbeinstalledinAxisnetworkcamerasandvideoencodersthatsupportAXISCameraApplication
Platform.Theapplicationisintendedforxedcamerasandxeddomes.Acompletelistofcompatibleproductsandrmware
versionsisavailableatwww.axis.com/applications
Theapplicationdoesnotrequireanylicense.
Forfullfunctionality,InternetExplorerandAXISMediaControl(AMC)arerequiredwhenconguringtheapplication.
Considerations
BeforeusingAXISVideoMotionDetection3,takethefollowingintoconsideration:
•Smallanddistantobjectsmightnotbedetected.
•Detectionaccuracymaybeaffectedbyweatherconditionssuchasheavyrainorsnow.
•MakesurethatthelightingconditionsarewithintheAxisproduct’sspecication.Addadditionallightingifneeded.
•Makesurethatthecameraisnotsubjecttoexcessivevibrations.Vibrationsmightcausefalsedetections.
