RCA connectors accept signals from unbalanced sources, while the XLR connectors are for balanced sources. A small toggle switch near the input connectors selects either the balanced or unbalanced inputs.

When you have a choice, a balanced connection will offer slightly higher sound quality than an unbalanced connection.

Note that the input selector switch for some channels will be in the “up” position, while the input selector switch for other channels will be in the “down” position.
