(EN) Step 2: Controls Mic Channels

AUX 1/2 knobs adjust the channel’s signal at the (1)
AUX SEND 1 and 2 jacks. The PRE buttons allow the
channel’s signal to be sent to the AUX SEND jack
pre-fader.
MIC/RTN switch selects eith er the XLR MIC input or th e (2)
stereo ¼" RETURN jacks as the channel’s audio s ource.
MIC EQ knobs adjust the channel’s equaliz ation. On the (3)
NOX606, the MID 1 knob adjusts the high midr ange
frequencies and MID 2 adjusts the lowe r mids.
MIC GAIN knob controls the sensitivit y of the mic input. (4)
On the NOX1010, the knob acts as a volume control.
TALKOVER causes the music volume to automaticall y drop (5)
whenever the mic is in use, allowing the oper ator to be
heard over the music. On the NOX606, hold the s witch in
the up position to engage the talkover fun ction, and flip
the switch down to turn the mic channel on w ithout
attenuating the music.
ON/PEAK LED lights green to indicate th at the channel (6 )
has been activated, and lights red i f the audio begins
to overload.
MIC ON button engages the mic channel. (7)
AUX IN knob adjusts the level of the audio conn ected to (8)
the AUX IN jacks.
Stereo Channels
GAIN knob controls the sensitivit y of the channel inpu t.(9)
INPUT SELECT switch selects the ch annel’s audio source. (10)
CUE button allows the source to be monito red without (11)
being included in the master output s ection.
CHANNEL EQ knobs boost or cut the high, mid an d low (12 )
frequencies of the channel. On the NOX4 04, use the
EQ ON/OFF switch to engage the knobs.
FILTER switch sends the channel to either FILTER 1 or 2. (13)
Leave the switch in the center to bypass the fil ters.
XFADE (A OFF B) switch sends the channel to either side o f (14)
the crossfader. When the center OFF posit ion is selecte d,
a channel whose fader is raised will byp ass the crossf ader
and be heard in the main mix.
CHANNEL FADER controls the volume of the channel i n (15)
the overall mix.
CHANNEL VU METER displays the signal level of the (16)
input source.
PAN fader adjusts the channel’s left to ri ght balance. (17)
Crossfader Section
FADER START switch engages the fader star t function, (18)
allowing the mixer to send start/cue si gnals to an
auto-start CD player.
CF ASSIGN knobs determine which channe ls appear at ( 19)
either side of the crossfader.
CROSSFADER fades between the sources as signed to (20)
either side.
XFADE CURVE knob determines how steep or gr adual the (21)
fade between source A and source B is.
REV/MODE LEDs indicate the status of the RE VERSE and (22)
MODE 1/2 buttons.
KILL switches/buttons remove th e high, mid and low (23)
frequencies from the A or B cross fader mix. On the
NOX303, flip the switches up to lock the effec t,
or manually hold the switches down to bri efly remove
the selected frequencies.
FX Section
FX DISPLAY indicates the current effec t. The display will (24 )
flash when a new effect is selected, an d remain lit when
it is confirmed by pressing the FX SELECT b utton.
FX SELECT knob scrolls through the ava ilable effect s. ( 25)
Pressing the knob confirms the effec t selection.
FX ON button activates the digit al effects pr ocessor. (26)
FX CUE button sends the effect to th e cue section f or (27)
preview before applying it to the mix .
FREQUENCY knob adjusts a frequen cy-based or ( 28)
time-based parameter of the sele cted effec t.
INTENSITY fader adjusts the mix or re sonance paramete r (29)
of the selected effect.
FX ASSIGN knob determines which sour ces are affecte d (30)
by the effect.
TAP button allows the effect’s tempo par ameter to be (31)
manually entered by pressing in rhyth m with the music.
Holding the TAP button for 2 seconds will c ause the
button to light permanently and allow t he FREQUENCY
knob to continuously control the effe ct's tempo.
DATA/MIDI knob allows adjustment of data such as MIDI (32)
clock speed.
MIDI ON button sends MIDI start/s top data to an (33)
external sequencer.
Master Section
BALANCE knob adjusts the left to r ight balance of the RC A (34)
MAIN OUTPUTS and BALANCED OUTPUTS.
BOOTH knob controls the level of the RCA BO OTH (35)
OUTPUTS on the back panel.
MONO button switches the BOOTH sign al from stereo (36)
to mono.
MUTE button mutes the BOOTH output. (37)
MASTER fader/knob controls the level o f the RCA MAIN (38)
OUTPUTS and BALANCED OUTPUTS.
AUX OUT knob adjusts the output of the AUX OUT j acks, (39)
which carry the same signal as the MAI N OUTPUTS.
MIX 1 knob adjusts the output of the MIX 1 XL R outputs (40)
on the rear panel.
MIX 2 knob adjusts the output of the MIX 2 ¼" jack s on (41)
the rear panel.
MASTER VU METER displays the signal level of t he master (42 )
output and/or cue signal.
MASTER/CUE button determines w hether the MASTE R (43)
VU METER displays the signal from the mas ter output or
cue signal.
CUE ACTIVE LED lights when a channel’s CUE but ton ( 44)
is active.
POST EQ button selects whethe r the cue is taken pre (up) (45)
or post-EQ (down).
STEREO/MONO button allows the master ou tput signal to (46 )
send in stereo or mono mode.
SPLIT/BLEND(CUE) button allows the cue signal to (47)
combine the cue and program sources or s eparate the
sources into left (cue) and right (main).
AUX 1/2 switches send the selected AUX RETU RN signal (48)
to the cue mix.
CUE GAIN knob determines the volume and se nsitivity of (49)
the cue signal.
CUE MIX knob/fader allows a gradual blend b etween the (50)
cue signal and the program signal. On the NOX4 04 and
NOX202, this fades between channel 1 and 2 .
CUE MODE switch determines whether c hannels 1 and 2, (51)
the FX section, or the Master signal a re heard in the cue/
headphone mix.
Rear Panel
POWER SWITCH turns the power to the unit on and off.(52)
LINE/PHONO button optimizes the PH ONO jacks for use (53)
with a turntable or CD player.
Front Panel
CUE TONE knob adjusts the tone of the ( 54)
cue/headphone signal.
REV/CF REVERSE button switches the ass ignment of the (55)
signals present at either side of the cro ssfader.
MODE button determines whether X FADE CURVE A or B (56)
is active.
FX LOOP/CONTOUR section (NOX404)
FX LOOP CH1/2 switches send the channel to the F X LOOP (57 )
SEND jack.
FX LOOP MIX fader adjusts how much of the F X LOOP (58)
RETURN signal is included in the main mix.
CH REV button allows the channels fade rs to control (59)
either input 1 or input 2.
MONO 1/2 STEREO HOUSE switch enables the VU MET ERS (60)
to either display channels 1 and 2 separatel y or the
overall stereo mix.
REVERSE button changes the func tion of the CHANNEL (61 )
FADER so that the top position is off and the bot tom
position is full volume.
MODE 1/2 button selects whether th e CHANNEL FADER (62)
acts as a volume control (MODE 1) or as a pan contro l
(MODE 2).
CONTOUR fader either adjusts the CHANNEL FADE R (63 )
volume slope or the pan slope, depending on
MODE 1/2 selection.
Filter Section (NOX606)
LFO DEPTH knob adjusts the amount of LFO (64)
(low-frequency oscillator) modu lation applied to
the filter.
LFO ON button engages the LFO. (65)
X2 TEMPO button doubles the speed o f the LFO. (66)
TAP button allows the speed of the LFO to be manual ly (67)
entered by tapping in rhythm with the m usic.
RESONANCE knob determines the shar pness of the (68)
filter, allowing a smooth response at the ‘MILD’ e nd to a
resonant feedback boost when tu rned towards ‘WIL D’.
VCF LINK 2-1 allows FILTER 2 to be controlled by FILTER (69)
1, allowing both filters to be adjusted simult aneously.
The HPF, BPF and LPF buttons still function
independently for each filter.
VCF TO XFADER button allows the filter's FREQUENC Y (70)
function to be controlled by the cro ssfader.
HPF button engages the high-pass fil ter, allowing only (71)
the frequencies above the FREQUENC Y knob setting to
be heard.
BPF button engages the band-pass fil ter, allowing only (72)
the narrow band of frequencies sele cted by the
FREQUENCY knob to be heard.
LPF button engages the low-pass filter, allow ing only (73)
the frequencies below the FREQUENC Y knob setting t o
be heard.
FREQUENCY knob selects the fre quency used by th e (7 4)
variable cutoff filter.
