Bendix® ASA-5®Slack

Adjuster Template

1.Block the wheels, mechanically cage the parking brakes and drain all air pressure from the system.

2.Before installing the ASA-5®slack adjuster, read the installation instructions packaged with the service replacement ASA-5®slack adjuster, or the service data sheet SD-05-1269.

3.Remove the existing slack adjuster and yoke.

4.Install the ASA-5®slack adjuster on the brake camshaft.

5.Center the hole “A” on the brake camshaft.

6.Center the ASA-5®slack adjuster yoke pin in the template hole.

7.The full diameter of the ASA-5®slack adjuster link pin must be with- in the appropriate slot in the template (6˝ yoke pin to 6˝ link pin, etc.). If not aligned, adjust the yoke adapter on the actuator rod.
