STEEPING TEA

Warning: Kettle filled with boiling water is hot on the outside. Use only the stay cool handle to pick it up. If taking kettle to the table set it on the swiveling base or a trivet to protect the wood or tablecloth.

4.Hold kettle level when pouring, especially when filled to maximum. Do not pour too fast.

5.To re-boil water it is necessary to wait several minutes for water to cool.

6.Unplug the kettle when not in use.

Note: This unit has a boil dry protection safety feature that automatically turns the kettle and indicator light off when water has boiled or if there is no water in the kettle.

STEEPING TEA

1.Follow directions in Boiling Water sSection, page 4.

2.Once water has boiled, carefully remove cover from tea kettle using a potholder for protection from steam.

• You can remove the scale filter by pressing inward through the spout with a finger. The filter will drop inside the kettle. To insert the filter into spout, position the filter with tabs toward the spout and press filter until it fits securely into position (F).

Over time, the kettle may heat up but will not boil, depending on your use and the hardness of the water in your area. When this happens, it is time for descaling. Use a scale/lime remover and follow its manufacturer's directions.

SCALE PROTECTION

Lime scale forms over time when water is heated. Though harmless it may be bothersome.

The concealed heating element in the kettle is designed to help reduce scale buildup.

The kettle has a scale filter at the bottom of the pour spout to prevent particles from pouring into your beverage.

Care and Cleaning

This appliance contains no user-serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service personnel.

CLEANING

Before cleaning, be sure the base is unplugged and the kettle has cooled completely. Empty any remaining water from the kettle.

Wash the inside of the kettle and the scale filter with soapy water and rinse.

NEVER IMMERSE THE KETTLE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS or place in a dishwasher.

Warning: Allow the unit to cool completely before removing the scale filter.
